Biography

The lyric coloratura soprano Anne Elizabeth Sorbara will make her house and role debut as the Primadonna in Donizetti’s Viva la Mamma at the Halle Opera House in the 24/25 season. Other highlights of her season include an Italian opera gala with the Göttingen Symphony Orchestra conducted by Nicholas Milton, as well as her debut at the Kiel Opera House as Adele in Die Fledermaus and as the Ghost of the Present in the newly composed opera A Christmas Carol by Kats-Chernin. Next, she will debut as Lucy in The Threepenny Opera at the Wismar Festival.

Her standout performances in recent seasons include: Olympia in Les contes d’Hoffmann (Theater Delphi Berlin), the Queen of the Night (Kammeroper Köln), and Pamina in Die Zauberflöte (Allee Theater), Morgana in Alcina, Eurydice in Orpheus in the Underworld, and Adele in Die Fledermaus (Hamburger Kammeroper). On the concert stage, Anne Elizabeth has shone at the Elbland Festival in Wittenberge and with the HansePhilharmonie Hamburg.

Originally from Toronto, Canada, she earned her Master’s in Voice Performance from the renowned Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
